- 1 pound beef sirloin, sliced into thin strips
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup sour cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked egg noodles or rice for serving
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the beef strips in a bit of oil until cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
- Add the mushrooms and cook until they are browned.
- Sprinkle the flour over the mixture, stirring to combine.
- Gradually add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring until the mixture thickens.
- Reduce heat and stir in the sour cream, warming through without boiling.
- Return the beef to the skillet, season with salt and pepper.
- Serve over cooked egg noodles or rice, and garnish with fresh parsley.
Notes
For a healthier option, substitute Greek yogurt for the sour cream. You can also omit mushrooms or replace them with bell peppers.
