Description

A creamy, savory dish combining tender beef strips and earthy mushrooms in a luscious sour cream sauce, perfect for cozy family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, sliced into thin strips
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked egg noodles or rice for serving
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the beef strips in a bit of oil until cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
  3. Add the mushrooms and cook until they are browned.
  4. Sprinkle the flour over the mixture, stirring to combine.
  5. Gradually add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring until the mixture thickens.
  6. Reduce heat and stir in the sour cream, warming through without boiling.
  7. Return the beef to the skillet, season with salt and pepper.
  8. Serve over cooked egg noodles or rice, and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

For a healthier option, substitute Greek yogurt for the sour cream. You can also omit mushrooms or replace them with bell peppers.
