- ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder

- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1 cup (240ml) whole milk, room temperature
- ½ cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled, or ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 ounces (226g) cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar (for sweet cream cheese center)
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (for sweet cream cheese center)
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for cinnamon sugar topping)
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ cup (85g) white chocolate chips or chopped white baking bar (optional, for drizzle)
- 1–2 teaspoons vegetable oil or coconut oil (optional, for thinning drizzle)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with liners.
- In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth, then add ¼ cup sugar and ½ teaspoon vanilla extract. Beat until light and fluffy.
- In a small bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons sugar and ½ teaspoon cinnamon.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, ¾ cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another medium bowl, combine the egg, milk, melted butter or oil, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, whisking until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined.
- Spoon about 1 ½ tablespoons of batter into each muffin liner, add a tablespoon of cream cheese filling, then cover with remaining batter.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar topping over each muffin.
- Bake for 5 minutes at 400°F, then reduce temperature to 375°F (190°C) and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool and drizzle with melted white chocolate if desired.
