Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup brewed coffee (chilled)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate (finely chopped)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, mix together the heavy cream, whole milk, chilled brewed coffee, sugar, and vanilla extract.
  2. Whisk until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  3. Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions (20-25 minutes).
  4. When nearly done churning, sprinkle in the finely chopped dark chocolate and mix evenly.
  5. Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours to firm it up.

Notes

For extra flavor, use a concentrated coffee or espresso. For a lower-fat option, substitute heavy cream and whole milk with half-and-half.
