Description
A delightful blend of tart cranberries and zesty oranges, perfect for breakfast and holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz cranberries (fresh or frozen)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1 cinnamon stick (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the cranberries, sugar, fresh orange juice, orange zest, and the optional cinnamon stick.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce it to a simmer. Stir occasionally until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens, about 15–20 minutes.
- Use a potato masher or spoon to mash the cranberries into your desired consistency. Simmer for another 5–10 minutes until it thickens further.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
- Transfer the jam to a clean jar. Cool completely before storing in the refrigerator for up to 10 days.
Notes
For a smoother texture, blend the jam after cooking. If less sweetness is desired, reduce sugar to taste.
