Description

A heartwarming dish perfect for festive gatherings, combining layers of savory beef or sausage, creamy ricotta, and gooey mozzarella.


Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 3 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (or 1 tablespoon dried)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, cook the ground beef or sausage over medium heat until browned; drain excess fat.
  4. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  5. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Layer 4 lasagna noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, half of the meat, and a third of the mozzarella. Repeat layers, ending with noodles and marinara sauce on top.
  7. Sprinkle remaining mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  9. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
