Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (hazelnuts or almonds)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons water (for glaze)
- Optional: chocolate for dipping
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine honey, brown sugar, and molasses. Mix well.
- Add the egg and beat until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until combined.
- Fold in the chopped nuts for added crunch and flavor.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly browned and fragrant.
- For the glaze, mix powdered sugar with water until smooth and pourable.
- Once cooled, dip the cookies in the glaze or drizzle it on top.
- Let them cool and set before serving or gifting.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks. Gently freeze unglazed cookies for up to three months.
