Scale
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup cherry puree (or chopped cherries)
  • 1/2 cup cherry pieces (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, and vanilla extract until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  2. Stir in the cherry puree and add a pinch of salt to enhance the flavors.
  3. If desired, fold in the optional cherry pieces for added texture.
  4. Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions for about 20 to 25 minutes.
  5. Transfer the soft ice cream into an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
  6. Serve and enjoy your homemade cherry vanilla ice cream!

Notes

For a creamier texture, chill the mixture in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours before churning. Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
