Homemade Cinnamon Swirl Banana Bread

Description

A delightful banana bread infused with warm cinnamon and sweet bananas, perfect for breakfast or a snack.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. Stir in the melted butter until combined.
  3. Mix in the baking soda and salt.
  4. Add sugar, egg, and vanilla extract, blending well.
  5. Stir in flour until just combined; lumpy batter is okay.
  6. Mix ground cinnamon and brown sugar in a separate bowl.
  7. Pour half the batter into the pan and sprinkle with half the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  8. Pour remaining batter, then top with remaining cinnamon sugar mixture.
  9. Swirl batter slightly with a knife.
  10. Bake for 60-65 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  11. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a nutty variation, add 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans. You can also mix in chocolate chips for a sweeter option.
