- 4 medium potatoes, diced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and add the Italian sausage. Cook until browned.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until translucent.
- In a greased baking dish, layer the diced potatoes.
- Pour the sausage mixture over the potatoes.
- Sprinkle with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the chicken broth over the layers.
- Top with shredded cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For a healthier alternative, use turkey or chicken sausage. You can also add extra vegetables like spinach, bell peppers, or mushrooms.
