Description

A simple yet flavorful dish combining juicy chicken breasts with barbecue sauce and gooey cheese, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup of your favorite barbecue sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Optional: chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  4. Sear the chicken breasts in the skillet for about 5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Transfer the seared chicken to a baking dish and pour the barbecue sauce over the top.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top of the barbecue sauce.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired, and serve.
