- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup of your favorite barbecue sauce
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Optional: chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Sear the chicken breasts in the skillet for about 5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Transfer the seared chicken to a baking dish and pour the barbecue sauce over the top.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese on top of the barbecue sauce.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly.
- Garnish with chopped green onions if desired, and serve.
