Description

A deliciously moist and tender banana bread with the perfect balance of sweetness and nuttiness.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the mashed bananas, sour cream, melted butter, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, and flour.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chopped walnuts if using.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

To maintain freshness, store at room temperature wrapped in plastic wrap or foil. Freezing is also an option for longer storage.
