Description

A deliciously moist banana bread made with sour cream, perfect for breakfast or as a snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 overripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the melted butter with the mashed bananas until well combined.
  3. Stir in the sour cream, sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring just until combined. Be careful not to overmix; it’s okay to have a few lumps.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve with butter, cream cheese, honey, or vanilla ice cream for a delightful treat.
