Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup rolled oats (old-fashioned oats)
- 1/2 cup milk of your choice (dairy, almond, or oat milk)
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt (Greek yogurt works great for extra creaminess)
- 1/2 medium apple, finely diced
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon chia seeds (optional, for thickness)
- A tiny pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a clean mason jar or a small airtight container, add the rolled oats, cinnamon, chia seeds (if using), and a pinch of salt. Stir these dry ingredients together.
- Pour in the milk, yogurt, vanilla extract, and maple syrup. Stir well until all the oats are submerged and no dry clumps remain.
- Gently fold in the diced apple pieces so they are distributed throughout the mixture.
- Seal the container with a lid and place it in the refrigerator.
- Let the oats soak for at least 4 hours, though leaving them overnight is best for the creamiest texture.
- In the morning, give the oats a quick stir. If the mixture is too thick, add a splash of extra milk to loosen it up.
- Top with extra apple slices or a sprinkle of cinnamon before serving.
- Cook Time: 4 hours 5 minutes
