Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 6–8 ounces each)
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- Fresh lemon wedges for serving
- Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a large baking dish or rimmed baking sheet with a small amount of oil.
- Use paper towels to pat the chicken breasts completely dry on both sides. This is essential for a good sear.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper until it forms a thin paste.
- Place the chicken in the prepared baking dish. Rub the spice mixture over both sides of each breast, ensuring they are evenly coated.
- Arrange the chicken in a single layer, making sure the pieces do not overlap.
- Bake in the center of the oven for 20 to 25 minutes. The exact time depends on the thickness of the meat.
- Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer. It should reach 165°F (74°C).
- Remove the dish from the oven. Transfer the chicken to a cutting board or plate and tent it loosely with foil.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 to 10 minutes. This keeps the meat juicy.
- Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top and garnish with parsley before serving.
- Cook Time: less than 30 minutes
