Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (alcohol-free)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups apples, peeled and finely diced (about 2 medium apples)
- 1/3 cup brown sugar (for the swirl)
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (for the swirl)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and ground cinnamon together. Set this aside for the swirl.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Gently fold the diced apples into the batter using a spatula.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter.
- Top with the remaining batter. Sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.
- Use a knife to gently swirl the cinnamon sugar into the batter using a zig-zag motion.
- Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before moving it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Cook Time: 50 to 60 minutes
