Description
A delightful meal that showcases juicy steak paired with fresh grilled zucchini in a rich homemade sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) steak (sirloin or ribeye)
- 2 medium zucchinis, sliced into rounds
- Olive oil, for drizzling
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- ¼ cup soy sauce (or tamari for a gluten-free option)
- 2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- Fresh herbs (like cilantro or parsley), for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Steak: Start by seasoning the steak with salt and pepper, and let it sit at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes.
- Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together garlic, soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, and rice vinegar. Set this aside.
- Grill the Zucchini: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Toss the zucchini slices with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Grill for about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Grill the Steak: Place the steak on the grill. Cook for 4-6 minutes on each side, depending on desired doneness.
- Rest and Slice: Once cooked, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for about 5 minutes. After resting, slice the steak against the grain.
- Assemble the Bowl: In a bowl, place a base of grilled zucchini, top it with sliced steak, and drizzle the sauce over the top. Garnish with fresh herbs.
