Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 6 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup low-sodium chicken broth (or water)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Season both sides evenly with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Place the chicken thighs in the skillet. Sear for about 5 to 7 minutes per side until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- Reduce the heat to medium. Move the chicken to the sides of the pan and add the minced garlic to the center. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the honey, chicken broth, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar. Stir the liquids together around the chicken.
- Let the sauce simmer for 3 to 5 minutes. Use a spoon to baste the chicken with the sauce frequently as it thickens into a sticky glaze.
- Once the sauce has reached your desired consistency and the chicken is fully coated, remove the pan from the heat.
- Garnish with fresh parsley or sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately while hot and glossy.
