- 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend for best flavor)
- 4 cups fresh broccoli florets, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup yellow onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
- Drain any excess fat from the pan, leaving about one tablespoon for flavor.
- Add the diced onions to the beef and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until they are soft and translucent.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until you smell the wonderful aroma.
- Add the broccoli florets to the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, and onion powder.
- Pour the beef broth into the pan. Cover with a lid and let it steam for 4 to 5 minutes, or until the broccoli reaches your desired tenderness.
- Remove the lid and stir everything together.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Cover for another minute until the cheese is completely melted and bubbly.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
