Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined (tails on or off)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional for a tiny kick)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- Lemon slices for garnish
Instructions
- 1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This high temperature ensures the shrimp cook quickly without becoming tough.
- 2. Lightly grease a large baking dish or a rimmed baking sheet with a little bit of oil or butter.
- 3. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. Removing excess moisture helps the sauce stick better and prevents the shrimp from steaming.
- 4. Arrange the shrimp in a single layer in the prepared baking dish.
- 5. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
- 6. Pour the butter mixture evenly over the shrimp. Toss them gently with a spoon or tongs to make sure every shrimp is well-coated.
- 7. Place the dish in the oven and bake for 8 to 10 minutes. You will know they are done when the shrimp turn pink and opaque and form a “C” shape.
- 8. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley. Garnish with extra lemon slices.
- 9. Serve warm, drizzling the extra garlic butter from the pan over the top.
- Cook Time: 15 minutes
