Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 large turkey wings Choose wings that are fresh and plump for the best flavor.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil Extra virgin for a richer taste.
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder Fresh minced garlic can be used for a more intense flavor.
  • 1 tbsp onion powder Enhances the overall taste; shallots can be a nice alternative.
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika Adds depth; regular paprika works well too.
  • 1 tsp salt Adjust to taste; kosher salt is a great substitute.
  • 1 tsp black pepper Freshly ground for the best flavor.
  • 1 tsp dried thyme Fresh thyme can be used for a brighter flavor.
  • 1 cup chicken broth Low-sodium for a healthier option.
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice Freshly squeezed for vibrancy; vinegar can serve as a substitute in a pinch.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Rinse the turkey wings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  3. In a large bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, thyme, broth, and lemon juice.
  4. Toss the turkey wings in the marinade until they are evenly coated.
  5. Let the wings marinate for 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
Cooking
  1. Lightly grease a large baking dish with olive oil.
  2. Arrange the marinated wings in a single layer, skin side up.
  3. Pour any remaining marinade over the wings.
  4. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour.
  6. Remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 30 minutes.
  7. Check that the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) before removing from the oven.

Notes

Leftover Baked Turkey Wings can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To reheat, place them in the oven at a low temperature until warmed through. For longer storage, you can freeze the wings for up to 3 months. Marinating the wings overnight enhances flavor, and you can experiment with different herbs and spices.
