Preparation
- Gather all ingredients.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mash the bananas in a large bowl until smooth with a few small lumps remaining.
- Stir in the melted butter until well combined.
- Add baking soda and a pinch of salt, stirring to incorporate.
- Mix in sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until combined.
- Gently fold in the flour, being careful not to overmix.
- Pour the batter into a greased 4x8 inch loaf pan.
- Optional: Sprinkle chopped nuts or chocolate chips on top.
Baking
- Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for about 60 minutes.
- Check for doneness after 50 minutes using a toothpick in the center.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
