Ingredients

For the cookies
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure your butter is softened for easier mixing.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour You can substitute this with gluten-free flour blend.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup cocoa powder For a richer chocolate flavor, consider using dark chocolate cocoa powder.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips You may add more for extra chocolate flavor.
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, diced For best flavor, use fresh strawberries.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until well combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips and diced strawberries.
  6. Scoop large tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set.
  2. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve warm for a gooey treat or cool for a firmer texture. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week or freeze for up to three months.
