  • 8 oz penne pasta Cook according to package instructions until al dente.
Sauce
  • 1 lb lean ground beef Brown in the skillet.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Adds creaminess to the sauce.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Aromatic flavor.
  • 1 medium onion, diced Adds sweetness and flavor.
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese Stir in until melted.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cook the penne according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve 1 cup of pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks until browned, approximately 7 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  4. Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream. Gradually add the reserved pasta water until you reach your desired sauce consistency.
  5. Finally, stir in grated Parmesan until it melts and the sauce is creamy.
  6. Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce in the skillet, tossing gently to coat all the pasta evenly.
Serving
  1. Serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan or fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Make sure not to overcook the pasta; it should be al dente. For a healthier option, swap heavy cream for a combination of Greek yogurt and chicken broth. Add fresh herbs for extra flavor.
