Preparation and Searing
- Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sear the chicken until golden and cooked through, about 4–5 minutes per side.
Making the Sauce
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
- Lower the heat, add butter, and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Pour in the heavy cream and stir to deglaze the pan, scraping up any brown bits for added flavor.
- Add the grated Parmesan cheese and simmer until the sauce thickens, about 2–3 minutes.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and allow it to simmer for 2–3 more minutes to heat through and coat with the sauce.
Notes
Serve over rice or mashed potatoes to soak up the sauce. Consider pairing with steamed broccoli or a salad for a lighter meal. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
