Cake Ingredients
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • 1 box chocolate instant pudding mix (3.9 oz)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips for topping
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Optional Toppings
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for topping
  • Whipped cream for serving

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with non-stick spray.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, chocolate pudding mix, milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Mix until well combined and the batter is smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  6. Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the top of the batter.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  2. Let the cake cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Serving
  1. Dust the top with powdered sugar and serve with whipped cream if desired.

Notes

This cake is fantastic when served warm. For an extra treat, add a dollop of whipped cream on top or serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Dusting it with powdered sugar adds a beautiful touch as well. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days or frozen for 2-3 months.
