Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually mix in the flour and salt until combined.
  4. Fold in the sliced almonds, white chocolate chips, orange zest, and vanilla extract.
  5. Roll the dough out on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Use star-shaped cookie cutters to cut out cookies and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
