  • 1 live lobster Choose a lively and heavy lobster for freshness.
  • Water Water Enough to cover the lobster.
  • 2 tablespoons salt Add to the boiling water.
For Serving
  • 2 tablespoons butter Melted for serving.
  • 1 lemon wedges For squeezing over the lobster.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Fill a large pot with enough water to cover the lobster and add a generous amount of salt.
  2. Bring the water to a boil.
  3. Carefully add the lobster to the boiling water, cover the pot, and reduce the heat to a simmer.
Cooking
  1. Steam the lobster for about 8-10 minutes or until the shell turns bright red and the meat is opaque.
  2. Remove the lobster and serve immediately with melted butter and lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

If you have leftover lobster, store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 days in an airtight container. For longer storage, freeze the meat for up to 3 months.
