  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts Can use frozen chicken breasts with increased cooking time
  • 1 cup Sweet Baby Ray’s barbecue sauce Any preferred barbecue sauce can be used
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder For extra flavor
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder Enhances flavor
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the crockpot.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce, chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken breasts, ensuring they are well coated.
  4. Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6 hours or until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
  5. Once cooked, shred the chicken with two forks and stir it back into the sauce.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the sauce mixture for a few hours before cooking. Add chopped onions or peppers for more texture. For a spicier dish, use crushed red pepper or hot sauce.
