Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the pie crust and press it into a deep-dish pan, ensuring it goes up the sides. Prick the bottom with a fork and prebake for 7–8 minutes.
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage until fully browned. Drain excess grease and season with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
- Spread ricotta cheese across the bottom of the prebaked crust.
- Add half of the shredded mozzarella over the ricotta.
- Spoon the cooked meat mixture over the cheese layers and spread evenly.
- Pour the pizza sauce over the meat layer and spread gently.
- Add the remaining mozzarella cheese.
- Arrange the pepperoni slices on top and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Baking
- Place the pie on a baking sheet and bake for 25–30 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
- Let the pie rest for 10 minutes before slicing to allow it to set properly.
Notes
Serve warm, paired with a simple side salad or garlic bread. For additional flavor, mix in different cheeses like provolone or cheddar. Don't overload the pie with sauce; a little goes a long way. For spice, try adding sliced jalapeños or crushed red pepper flakes.
