Ingredients

For the beef sauce
  • 1 tbsp olive oil For sautéing
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lb ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
For the cheese mixture
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
For layering
  • 12 pieces lasagna noodles, cooked

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, then sauté the diced onion until soft and translucent. Add the minced garlic and continue to cook for a brief time until fragrant.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, seasoning with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika. Cook until the beef is browned, then drain any excess fat.
  4. Stir in the marinara sauce and let it simmer for about 5 minutes before removing from heat.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the ricotta, cream cheese, sour cream, mozzarella, Parmesan, and chopped parsley until smooth and creamy.
Assembly and Baking
  1. Start assembling your lasagna: Spread a thin layer of meat sauce at the bottom of the baking dish. Add a layer of cooked noodles, followed by a scoop of the creamy cheese mixture and more meat sauce. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used.
  2. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. After that, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes until the top is bubbly and lightly golden.
Serving
  1. Let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
